It takes an intuitive or psychic person to analyse these generalized meanings and dig deeper into the situation. To begin using the tarot one must choose a particular deck that appeals to them. I started with the Rider Waite deck and the Celtic spread and then gradually worked with other spreads like the tree of life, past lives, three cards spread, and past present and future spreads. As I worked with the cards I found I could predict time frames with my family and friends. I was receiving images in my mind's eye saying things about the situation that I had no way of knowing. The tarot started many years ago as a parlour game, but the cards themselves hold many secrets of life and as you familiarize yourself with them you too can see, hear, and feel things you have no way of knowing. The first time this happens you may feel frightened, don't be, you’re opening yourself to a world like no other. Consulting the cards for advice has been going on for a long time. One should learn to visualize and meditate in conjunction with the use of the cards. Find a quiet place, perhaps burn some incense or candles prior to consulting the cards thereby opening up to your sixth sense. As you begin to see what the tarot can open up for you, you will be amazed at the accuracy of what is touched upon. There are many books and articles about the tarot, one could start by perhaps reading about the suits and what they symbolize and branch out to major arcana. There are 78 cards in a deck consisting of the major and minor Arcana. The minor arcana is a bit like a regular deck of playing cards from ace to the King, with the suits of hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades being similar in the tarot to cups, pentacles, wands, and swords. with each having its own number.
