How To Test Your Intuition To Improve And Trust It More

Who else wants to find out how to test your intuition and then improve it so much you can trust it? Well, practice makes perfect. You too can raise your vibration and develop your sixth sense, but you will require commitment.

Many people have gone to a psychic for a reading with personal questions in their lifetime, but how many people are actually psychic themselves? Is it possible to develop your “sixth sense”? You’d be surprised when you know how to test your intuition!

Some folks are already incredibly psychically aware, but do not recognize it. There are many forms that psychic messages can take. Clairvoyance is the most well-known and is the ability to “see” in your mind’s eye. Clairaudience is hearing messages, clairsentience is feeling messages, and so on. Each of these is a different way that information is conveyed to a person intuitively. Have you ever felt something brush against you that wasn’t there? Heard someone call your name but no one was to be found? It’s quite possible that your intuitive abilities are already strong.

First and foremost, in learning how to improve your intuition is to meditate! As simple as it sounds, clearing your mind and spending time with yourself being present in the moment will raise your energy and allow your intuitive messages to come through. If you don’t know how to meditate, it’s an easy process, but like all psychic development, it also takes practice. Set aside some time for yourself, make sure you’re in a peaceful environment, and close your eyes. It’s recommended to sit rather than lie down. Focus on your breathing and notice your breath entering and leaving your physical body. Use this focus to clear your mind of other things. Repeating a mantra also helps. A mantra is a word, or simple phrase that you repeat either out loud, or in your mind to maintain your focus.

While meditating, sometimes unconscious thoughts will come into your mind. Take note of them, and do not attempt to control these thoughts. Allow them to play across your mind as though it were a movie screen. Once you’ve finished meditating, write these thoughts in a journal. Review your journal on occasion, and you may note that some of the thoughts that came into your mind without your input were messages or premonitions.

How To Test Your Intuition With A Deck Of Cards

Test intuition with playing card suits

Aside from meditating, actual practice in using your intuition is necessary. One simple way of learning how to test your intuition uses a deck of playing cards. Shuffle the deck and try to guess which color of card (black or red) you will pull next from the deck. As you practice, you’ll begin to notice what the feeling of receiving psychic information feels like. Keep track of your scores as you practice. If you are guessing the correct color more than 50% of the time, you’re beating the odds, and it’s probably not just a guess.

If you haven’t received psychic information before, fear not! Trusting your intuition can take some people years of practice. Through consistent practice, you’ll notice that you may have one method of receiving intuitive information that works better for you. This is your psychic strength. Some souls are destined to have stronger psychic intuition than others, but everyone can improve their abilities if they’re open to it.

Learn How to Trust Your Intuition

Trusting your intuition can be referred to as having an inner guide who can help you make important decisions without over thinking the choices before you.

So, it is well worth the time and effort in developing your intuition as by now you must realize you have it already. If you’ve ever had a hunch about something, that was your intuitive ability working. Intuition is just your conscious mind receiving input about what is right or wrong from your deep inner voice. But can you trust your intuition? Here are a few steps that will recap how you can improve it.

  1. Recognize it and encourage it.
  2. Study it to make it more trustworthy.
  3. Give it good information to work with.

(1) Try to find areas in your own life where you naturally intuitively operate. What is something that you are just naturally good at without studying? What is an area where you trust your gut feeling and it is almost always right? That is your insight speaking, continue to listen to your intuition and nurture it.

Of course, your inner voice can also be a warning device. When you get the gut feeling “something isn’t right here” that is your inner perception talking and you’d be smart to pay attention.

Have you ever considered purchasing a car and then you start seeing them all over? Looking for and recognizing a thing trains your mind to find more of it. The same process will happen if you watch for your gut instinct – you’ll start to see more of it.

Unfortunately, a strong hunch can be for irrelevant reasons too. If you were hit by a yellow taxi as a child, you might always have gut feelings not to get into yellow taxis for the rest of your life. So even learning to recognize your intuition and encourage it may leave you wondering when to trust it.

(2) Start questioning your hunches. Study your strong feelings about that taxi, and you might say, “Oh, it’s just my fear of yellow taxis.” Get in the habit of paying attention to and studying your intuitive feelings.

Where does your intuition work best? If you’re always right about your intuitive stock picks, give a little credence to them. On the other hand, if your hunches about people are usually wrong, don’t follow them. Just pay attention more, and you’ll be developing intuition about your intuition.

(3) Your skill, knowledge, and experience determine the potential effectiveness for you to listen to your intuition. Learn enough about a subject, before expecting good hunches about it, or before trusting the hunches. Work in the area you want more intuitive insight in. When enough information is in your mind, it will go to work for you with or without your conscious participation, so feed it well.

Recognize when your intuition helps, and you’ll have hunches and ideas more often. Study it and you’ll learn when to trust it. Give it good information and you’ll be repaid with good hunches and ideas.
